Project Description

The apartment renovation at Essex Street, Manhattan, NY was a full renovation project.

Many of us think small space means lack of functionality. On the other hand, good design makes the project very effective. In this case, we worked on custom made units: custom kitchen cabinets, custrom bathroom vanity, custom walk in closet, custom radiator/window sill covers, custom wall units and custom shelving.

Our client wanted to have as much storage as possible at the budget that was provided to us.

Thanks to our clients’ architect, after many meetings and consultations, we achieved a very nice solution and overall wow factor.

How we solved it

Our approach

The kitchen custom cabinets, including kitchen island and custom radiator covers with nice grilles on the top we made of pre-finished maple, MDF that the color was matched with the color of the walls Pure White Benjamin Moore ( we made it as a lacquer base with satin sheen).

The custom wall bedroom unit had also the same finish as the custom kitchen cabinets.

Next big thing is a custom walk in closet. It was made of maple veneer plywood, stained and satin lacquer topcoat. While we were working on it at our wood shop we did not fully visualize how beautiful it will be after its completion. While the installation was complete, including tie hooks, coat hanging rods and gorgeous stainless steel pulls/handles we all could finally admire its appearance.

Next thing that we would like to share it with you is our custom made bathroom vanity. Its carcass was made of pre finished maple veneer plywood; front were made of MDF with color matched to Silver Lining from Banjamin Moore ( we made it as a lacquer base).

We knew it was going to look very nice but in reality after we installed beautiful pulls and stone countertop it actually exceeded our expectations. The client as well as the architect were thrilled after all work was done.
